Lankreuzer P. 1000 and P. 1500

The two absolutely massive Landkreuzer ultra-heavy tanks were the biggest armoured fighting vehicles ever designed. The designs for the land battleships were presented to Hitler in 1942. The P. 1500 was especially huge, it weighed 1500 tons, was almost 140 feet long, had a crew of over 100 and it's 800mm gun was the largest gun ever built(I'm pretty sure the gun was the only thing they built). Fortunately both projects were cancelled in 1943.

Type 1 medium tank Chi-He

I've never done a blog on a Japanese tank before so I decided to give it a try.

The Chi-He was built to Supply the Japanese army with a fairly good medium tank for the Japanese island hopping campain that started after Pearl Harbour. It was armed with a 47mm gun and very few were produced(the Japanese never seemed to make tanks in very large numbers)before it was replaced by the Chi-Nu medium tank.

I may not do this again beacuse there is little information on Japanese tanks so I couldn't make the blog very long.

Hetzer light tank destroyer

The Hetzer was a German built tank destroyer produced in 1944 and 1945 and it is less commonly known as the Jagdpanzer 38(t).It was armed with a 75mm gun that could destroy most enemy tanks. It fought in many battles, most notably the Battle of the Bulge.A few different variants were built and like most other German armoured vehicles of the time saw little action after World War II.

(please excuse the quality of this blog for I have been a little lazy for the past few days)

StuG III and IV

The StuG assault gun was one of Germany's first successful tank destroyers and one of the best ever made. The first StuG's appeared around the time of the Battle of France and were greatly successful in the first couple years of the war.Eventually the short barrelled gun it originally used was replaced by a longer barrelled one.The StuG was built on the Panzer III and Panzer IV body, hence the "III" and "IV".In the later years of the war the StuG was still successful but it since it didn't have a turret it was vulnerable from the side.It was also vulnerable to air attack like all other tanks and since the Allies had air superiority the StuG could be destroyed from the air with ease.

Jagpanzer IV tank destroyer

The German built Jagpanzer IV was part of a new series of assault vehicles ordered after the battle of Stalingrad(September 1942-Feb 1943).It had a 75mm gun and entered production in January 1944 and saw action in Normandy and the battle of the Bulge as well as being sent to the Eastern front in limited numbers. In late 1943 the old version was replaced with a new version with a better 75mm gun. After the war a few were given to Romania and in West Germany they kept building self-propelled guns for a while, but they were not very successful. In Sweden however they built a fairly successful self-propelled gun which was their main battle tank for a while before being replaced.
