Tribal class destroyer

The Tribal class destroyer is probably he largest and most powerful British built destroyers that served in the Atlantic theatre of war during World War 2. 27 of them were built:18 for Britain,8 for Canada and 3 for Australia. They were originally armed with 8 4.7 inch guns but this was later changed to 6 4.7 inch and 2 4 inch guns and the later Canadian Tribals were only armed with the 8 4 inch guns. Thirteen were lost during the war: twelve British and one Canadian, all of the British destroyers were lost either in the Mediterranean or the North sea. Only one of the Tribal class survives: HMCS Haida is preserved as a museum ship in Hamilton, Ontario.
