The sinking of the Costa Concordia

The sinking of the Italian owned cruise liner Costa Concordia during the night of January 13 2012 is the most recent cruise ship disaster. At 9:45 local time in the night of January 13th 2012 the Italian cruise liner Costa Concordia was sailing dangerously close to Giglio island off the coast of Italy when she struck a rock. It probably would have been a Titanic scale disaster had the ship not been blown onto a shallow rock ledge. The captain is currently on trail for going so close to the island and for not leaving his ship last(in Italy it's a law that that the captain must be the last one to leave the ship). The ship is currently lying at about a 70 degree angle half submerged in water.
