The sinking of the Lusitania

The sinking of the British ocean liner RMS Lusitania in 1915 was a devastating tragedy that almost certainly helped bring America into WW1.

On May 1st 1915 the ocean liner RMS Lusitania departed from America on her last voyage.Around 5:00 in the morning on May 7th 1915 the Lusitania was about 120 miles off Ireland.Around 2:00 she was hit by a single torpedo from the German submarine U-20.By 2:30 she was gone,taking with her almost 1200
passengers and crew.
