Note:i know I've already done a blog on the Titanic but the 100th anniversary of the sinking is on Sunday so i thought it would be a good blog to do.
On 10 April 1912 the ocean liner RMS Titanic left Southampton on her maiden voyage to New York,at the time she was the biggest ship in the world.Four days later,on the clear night of April 14 1912 at about 11:40 pm an iceberg was sighted almost directly ahead, the ship immediately reversed her engines and turned hard to port(left)but it was to late. The iceberg grazed the hull, ripping open 6 of the ships 14 watertight compartments.
The ship started transmitting distress calls and prepared to evacuate.By 1:00 in the mourning of the 15th the evacuation had started but only women and children were being let off the ship.By 2:00 the Titanic's bow was underwater. At around 2:15 the ship broke apart, the bow headed straight for the bottom while the stern stayed afloat with the remaining 1500 people on board. At 2:20 in the mourning on April 15th 1912 the stern of the titanic disappeared beneath the waves, taking with it 1500 people.

That's all for now!

Hi Keegan, I like the blog. You have an amazing knowledge of naval subjects. I am interested in naval warfare, but get sick even looking at a boat (not very good with motion sickness)! Keep up the blogging!
